i went sky diving today. its really hard to describe the feeling. i cant honestly say i thought i would die, otherwise i wouldnt have jumped out of the plane. but my body’s natural reaction before we flipped over backwards out of the plane (as my tandem buddy put it, “getting this shit storm started”) my legs were shaking uncontrollably until they were lifting themselves off the floor of the plane. and my hand held so tight to the rope that it had to be forcibly detached. i was laughing hysterically in panic. that fall was incredible. i had no idea what to do, or how to think. and the photographer is in my face, telling me to pose with my hands. so the whole way down my hands are in ‘hang loose’ position. and then the parachute opens and the calm sets in, because the ocean and the island of hawaii are far beneath my feat and a perfect breeze is brushing against me. thats when i told my tandem buddy i loved him, and thanked him for not letting me die. craziest experience of my life.
